Is it from day 1 you own this modem you have this problem, or after a period of time? Have you ever tested/used with other modem previously?

As from your data.. your Tx has no problem, but Rx indeed you have. It maybe due to the firmware. Look for firmware upgrades and checkit out.

If all modem the same then I it's definitely the line. The problem could be lying betwen your home and your sub-station. Sometimes your port in the sub station is faulty. Better find the technical guy from the sub-staion to check and trace the problem.

I think you still hav to call 1300 to get the the local tech to come... just bare for a while just follow the instruction (but actually don't do anything) or pretend you don't know anything until the caller given up on you and will request job sheet to the local guy.

when this guy come don't forget to get the substation number, so next time you can ring this guy just to chek if you've got problem in your area. That's what I did.. he he he

take a pocket knife, peel open the box that covers the cable then scrape off a piece of wire insulator from your telephone wire.
If it is blackened, its time to change your telephone cable.

If not, one of the wire maybe disconnected from the telephone pole ( rendering broadband unable to connect / frequent disconnet ) but analog phone can still be used.
